J-M and Northwood faced off in Siler City on Saturday for some afternoon baseball under near perfect conditions. Neither teams’ bats really came alive as each team only had three hits, but that was in part due to the pitching from both teams. Northwood used a host of guys to keep J-M’s hitters off balance and J-M’s Josh Hudson had a no-hitter going through 4 and 2/3 innings.
In the top of the fifth, Northwood’s Logan Crabtree had a two out double to break up the no-no and later scored on a Matt Oldham single to right field. The Chargers led 1-0 after five innings of play.
J-M was unable to push across any runs but had runners in scoring position during the game. Northwood added their second run in the top of the sixth off of a Trent Cline single that scored Peyton Walker.
In the end, Northwood got the 2-0 victory over the Jets.Click her for photos
