Moore’s 17 strikeouts propel the Bears past South Davidson

Chatham Central’s baseball team hosted the wildcats from South Davidson on Tuesday for a Yadkin Valley 1A conference game. John Thomas Moore had an impressive game for the Bears on the mound recording seventeen strikeouts and allowing only 3 hits in the 4-1 victory. Luke Garner got things going in the bottom of the first for Central with a two out double and later scored to give the Bears an early 1-0 lead. Chatham Central used aggressive base running to get runners in position to score for the majority of the game. Hunter Little had two runs scored and an RBI in the contest. Mickey Fields and Fred Hilliard also had an RBI each.

The Central baseball team will host North Moore on Friday for their last conference game before the tournament.
