Jets fast pace too much for Franklinton

The Jordan-Matthews men’s soccer team, Los Jets, hosted Franklinton in a first round playoff match on Wednesday evening. The game began with a Jets goal within the first minute of play off the foot of Ivan Ortega with the assist from Eric Lujan. It became evident rather quickly that J-M wanted to play fast and keep high pressure on the Rams. Lujan scored the second goal for J-M before there were ten minutes of play completed in the first half. Bryan Guerrero scored the third goal for the Jets later in the half off of a corner that was assisted by Jonathan Hernandez. At half, J-M led 3-1.

Immediately out of the gate in the second half, much like J-M did in the first, Franklinton posted their second goal in the 41st minute of play and it was 3-2 in favor of J-M with the entire second half yet to be played. However, Ortega answered with his second goal of the match shortly after to make it 4-2. Los Jets would go on to win by a score of 6-4 with Guerrero adding his second goal on a PK and Inocente Mondragon scoring a goal.

J-M will host Red Springs on Saturday.
