After the second day of the 2016 wrestling state championships there are three Chatham County wrestlers that are set to wrestle for gold on Championship Saturday. Hunter and Michael Queen will represent Northwood in the 160 lb. and 182 lb. weight classes respectively tomorrow after winning both of their matches on Friday. Defending state champion Nick Daggett of Chatham Central will represent the Bears of Chatham Central in the 113 lb. weight class.
The action began on Friday for the Chatham County wrestlers with Lorenzo LaManna of Northwood defeating Jacob Dawson of Western Harnett but LaManna would later lose his second match of the day. Chatham Charter’s Chris Brannon and John Dunning of Northwood each one a match and lost a match on Friday and are set to begin their day Saturday Morning along with Chatham Central’s Hunter Little in the consolation rounds.Click here to view photos from the day
