Chatham Central’s basketball teams hosted West Montgomery in the semifinals of their conference tournament on Thursday. The Girls trailed by five at half but bounced back in the third after with the help of a 12 point quarter from Matti Moore and led 38-34 after three quarters. The fourth quarter was back and forth but in the end the Lady Bears got the victory after Jocelyn Rives scored the go ahead bucket with a few seconds left on the clock. With the 47-45 win, Central advances to the finals to face South Davidson tonight.

In the boys game Central was also down at half 25-19 and came roaring back in the third. Central’s boys had a 36-33 lead after the third quarter that concluded with a half court buzzer beater by J.T. Moore. Unfortunately they could not hold the lead and lost 49-44 in the end to the Warriors.
